James David Allshouse

Colonel James David Allshouse, age 62, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. He was born November 25, 1954 to the late Anne and Charles E. Allshouse. Jim was commissioned through the AFROTC program at The Ohio State University in 1976, and received a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy, Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF), Ft McNair, Washington D.C. in 1997. He served as a weapons systems operator and an electronic warfare (EW) officer in the F-4E and F-4G and as an instructor, weapons instructor, and standardization/evaluation flight examiner. His career culminated as the Commander for the AFROTC at the University of Virginia. He was a senior navigator with over 2200 hours of fighter experience. His major awards included the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and Air Medal. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Jim joined Battelle in 2003 and served as a Program Manager within the Battelle Special Programs Market Sector. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Dr. Milisa Rizer; daughter, Kaylin; brother, Richard (Julie) Allshouse; and many other extended family members and dear friends, including his beloved dog, Olivia.
